Trying my luck over on these forums because I am at wits end. About 2 months back I was on the way home when I noticed my cruise light went out and my car died for a second right before I got to the driveway. Next day when I left I noticed I was now perma stuck in 2nd gear and still no cruise light. After some forum advice I went to try the trans diagnostics and noticed no amber light would come on for the test - so obviously it is a power issue somewhere. The fuse is fine for the record.
I know for a fact when I had the transmission replaced last year that the mechanic said he had to splice the harness. 1st question, is there any one particular area I can get narrowed down that would kill power to my cruise light, tcu and tcu amber lights at the same time? If I need to replace any harness - would it only be the alternator to transmission harness someone mentioned to me? I'm just stumped and any advice to narrow this down would be greatly appreciated.
